Samsung talks about removing 'cumbersome bloatware' from the Galaxy S6

Samsung has often been criticized for filling up the software on its devices with bloatware which tends to negatively affect the performance. We exclusively reported long before Samsung officially unveiled the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge that both smartphones will have a relatively small amount of bloatware and as a result the overall software experience will be improved. That's precisely what the company did. In a post on its official blog today Samsung itself talks about focusing on simplicity and functionality more to provide Galaxy S6 owners with a refined user experience. It also mentioned how “cumbersome bloatware” has been removed from the system to ensure that the new experience is intuitive and streamlined.

The company says that it has made the overall software experience on the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge more stylish, modern and simplified. Users won't be interrupted as much by popup alerts and notifications. It'll be easier for them to navigate the system as it now has a more “logical” format with a reduced number of unnecessary menu options.

People who pick up the company's new flagships will be able to personalize their units through themes. Almost every aspect of the user interface can be customized like app icons, keypads and even design for native apps like S Planner and Messages. Samsung has also opened the API to third parties and individual developers so that they can create their own themes for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge and then offer them through the Theme Store.
