While Samsung is yet to release the stable One UI 7.0 update for most eligible Galaxy phones and tablets, it has already started testing One UI 8.0 (Android 16). We have showed you how One UI 8.0 looks on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Now, the first look at the new design that the stock Weather app brings with One UI 8.0.
The first look at One UI 8.0's stock Weather app is finally here (via @rajAnoop_ and @GerwinvGiessen). The new design has the same design language as the design in One UI 7.0, but it brings a new animation which shows a person walking from the right side of the screen to the center of the screen with clothes matching the weather conditions.
As you can see in the video above, the person appearing in the new Weather app design is wearing summer clothes and a cap as it's hot and there's clear sky. When it's raining, the person appears wearing a raincoat or holding an umbrella. When the temperature is low, they appear wearing fuller and warmer clothes.
That is the only design change we noticed in the new app. The rest of the design looks similar to the existing version running on One UI 7.0. The amount of information also appears to be the same. It shows hourly weather conditions with temperatures and precipitation, UV rays strength, sunrise and sunset times, information about pollen, and more.
We exclusively reported a few weeks ago that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be launched with Android 16 and One UI 8.0 onboard. The devices are expected to become official in mid-2025.
